Cannabis social club information, harm reduction, and honest conversation in El Campello and the Costa Blanca. 🥦
At La Mezquita, we recognise that cannabis has been used by many people as a medicinal, therapeutic, recreational, spiritual, and sacramental plant. We do not judge people for their relationship with cannabis. We take a harm reduction approach: we believe that honest education, open conversation, and access to good information leads to better outcomes than silence or shame.
Although we are not currently operating as a fully fledged cannabis social club in the usual commercial sense, our project has at times supported cannabis users on their journey. We are advocates for a respectful, informed, and non-judgemental approach — especially when people use cannabis consciously, medicinally, or as part of a wider healing path.
Our role is not to sell, promote, or publicly arrange access to cannabis. Our role is to offer honest conversation, harm reduction, education, and guidance around responsible use, medical cannabis, cannabis social clubs in Spain, and the legal and ethical principles behind the CSC model.
People sometimes contact us from El Campello, San Juan, Alicante, Villajoyosa, Benidorm, and across the Costa Blanca with questions about cannabis: how cannabis social clubs work in Spain, what the difference is between recreational and medicinal cannabis, how to access cannabis safely and legally, and how to think about cannabis as part of a broader approach to health and well-being.
If you are one of those people, you are welcome to speak with us directly. No previous appointment is necessary. Come and find us, or send us a WhatsApp message and we will do our best to help. We will help you find the resources and information you are truly looking for. 🥦
At La Mezquita, we do not discriminate against people who use cannabis as a sacred plant, a recreational herb, or a therapeutic support. However, during our psychedelic retreats, we keep medicines separate unless they are clearly complementary to one another. In our experience, cannabis is generally not complementary during psilocybin, San Pedro, or ayahuasca ceremonies, and we ask guests not to mix it with these medicines during the retreat. This is a safety and quality-of-experience guideline, not a moral judgement.

A cannabis social club (CSC) in Spain is a private, non-profit association of adults who collectively cultivate cannabis for personal use. Membership is by invitation and requires proof of prior cannabis use. Clubs cannot advertise publicly, cannot supply non-members, and cannot operate commercially. The model is designed to provide a safe, regulated, and socially responsible alternative to the black market. If you would like to understand the CSC model in more detail, we are happy to explain it in person.
Medical cannabis is a growing area in Spain, and a number of practitioners in Alicante province are beginning to offer cannabis-related consultations. If you are interested in using cannabis for therapeutic or medicinal purposes, we can point you toward the right kind of information and support. Come and speak with us.
Cannabis is decriminalised for personal use in Spain: possession of small amounts for personal use is not a criminal offence, though it can result in a fine in a public space. Cultivation for personal use in a private space is widely tolerated. Selling cannabis remains illegal. The CSC model exists in a legally grey but broadly accepted space. We recommend staying informed and acting responsibly at all times.
